3 days after Dallas Braden called out Alex Rodriguez again for stepping across his mound earlier this year, Dallas Braden would go on to throw the 19th perfect game in Major League Baseball History.

The 24th pick in the 2004 MLB Draft threw only the second perfect game in Oakland A’s history. Jim ‘Catfish’ Hunter’s perfect game came on May 8th, 1968 against the Minnesota Twins.

Not only did Braden throw a perfect game but he threw it against one of the hottest teams and best road team in the league The Tampa Bay Rays. This is the second straight season that the Rays have been apart of a perfect game both of which going in the favor of the opposing team.

Back to Braden, a couple of weeks ago he was being known as the guy that yelled at Alex Rodriguez for crossing his mound, claiming it was against the unwritten rules of baseball. Now Braden is known as Dallas ‘Perfect Game’ Braden who yelled at A-Rod for crossing his mound, claiming it was against the unwritten rules of baseball.

Rodriguez responded to the perfect game saying, “”I’ve learned in my career that it’s always better to be remembered for some of the good things you do on the field, and good for him,” Rodriguez said before facing Boston. “He threw a perfect game. And, even better, he beat the Rays.”

Dallas’s name will now be in the written books of baseball and A-Rod may join him soon enough as he attempts to break Barry Bonds home run total. So if and when that happens Dallas and A-Rod can share not only a history book but a mound as well.
