On Air: The Official Blog of WSJU Sports

If you just woke up from being asleep since Thursday night and looked in the score box and saw The Boston Red Sox’s had won 9-3 last night over The New York Yankees you would have missed The Yanks destruction of Boston in the first two games. The Yankees won 10-3 Friday night and 14-3 Saturday afternoon in which Mark Teixeria belted three home runs in the game.

The Yankees now stand at 21-9, one game behind The Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East Division and Boston sits at 16-16 on the season, not looking like a team experts picked to be one of the better teams in the league because of their deep pitching.

The Yankees are continuing their dominance as expected. They have won 8 of their 9 series to start the season even with Teixeria and Rodriguez not having their usual numbers. Robinson Cano has been terrific hitting .353 with 9 home runs and 22 runs batted in. Their pitchers have all looked strong except for Javier Vazquez who was skipped in this weekend series against Boston but will return this upcoming week as the Yankees face The Detroit Tigers in a 3 game series.

Yanks are starting hot, Boston is not. The saying goes “It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish” Only two months into baseball there is still time to see how these two team shape up.
